INTRODUCTION
The faculty has
intensively developed rural and urban development within Bali province since
more than ten years ago. This mainly aims at improving life quality of people
with the basis of sustainable development concept.
Recently, the growth
of tourism development has rapidly increased in Bali as an international
destination. One of the impacts is agricultural development has started
decreased its role on economic growth. A strong competition of water resources
becomes increased among the users, such as subak (traditional irrigators
association), industry and domestic user.
In term of agriculture, subak existence is very
important as it is a socio-agricultural-religious institution, and has
multi-functions on economic, socio-cultural, physical and environmental
aspects. Regarding this, the efforts are
endeavored by government and other institution to maintain the existence of
subak in facing modernization and globalization forces.
The lessons of this
would be communicated and transferred to people who have interest or
willingness to learn about water resources and environmental development.

under the local wisdom/culture;
